Mr Lee Tiam Choy, aged 21, youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. Lee Chin Siew of Kuala Lumpur, passed away at the General Hospital on Wednesday 28th inst. He arrived in Singapore only a fortnight ago to complete his Post Graduate Course at the Raffles College, but was suddenly taken ill a week ago. His remains has been conveyed last evening by the mail train to Kuala Lumpur, where the burial will take place from No. 2A Chow Kit Road this evening. [The Straits Times, 30 June 1939, Page 2]
