Lim Liew Saik (Mrs. Choong Lye Hock), death 25 December 1935

LATE MRS. CHOONG LYE HOCK. The funeral took place at Penang this week of Mrs. Choong Lye Hock, nee Madam Lim Liew Saik Neoh, who died on Christmas night aged 52 years, after a long illness. She leaves her husband, two sons, four daugters and 13 granchildren. She was the founder of the Lim Liew Saik Neoh Scholarship at the Penang Free School and was well known for her charitable disposition. [The Straits Times, 16 January 1936, Page 16]

The wedding took place on Friday at Penang, of Mr. Choon Eng Hai, a partner of Sun Hai Bros., rubber dealers and factory owners, and younger son of Mr. Choon Lye Hock, the well-known landed property owner, rice and oil miller and merchant of Penang, and Miss Ho Guat Im, younger daughter of Mr. Ho Kim Teik, a well-known Penang merchant and planter.
