Ng Ann Thye, death May 1936, Ipoh
Ipoh, May 2. The death has occurred of Mr. Ng Ann Thye, eldest son of the late Mr. Ng Boo Bee who was a millionaire tin miner 50 years ago owning many tin mines at Kamunting, near Taiping and also many houses at Taiping and Penang. Mr. Ng Ann Thye was a former member of the Taiping Sanitary Board and a committee member of the Taiping Turf Club. He also owned racehorses and served on several public bodies. He had been in ill health latterly. A keen sportsman he frequently took soccer teams from Taiping to play at Penang. The funeral will take place on Wednesday.
