Soh Oh Peng, J.P., passed away at Penang on September 30, 1940, aged 71. Funeral will take place today at 10 a.m., the cortege leavingg No. 81, Neil Road, Singapore, for the Bukit Brown Cemetery. [The Straits Times, 6 October 1940, Page 9]
