Introduction and Purpose of This Site

Just starting this as a means of capturing records of births, marriages and deaths occurring in Malaya i.e. from the founding of Penang in 1786 up to the time of independence in 1957. Primary purpose is to aid myself (and my relatives, both known and unknown) in our quest to know more and record information pertaining to our ancestry, but also to help others to do so, and as a means of re-recording and providing primary source information from Newspapers. I would therefore like to request that sources (Name of newspaper, date and page of newspaper or other publication, occurring at the time of the event) be provided. Anything which does not come from publications occurring at the time of the event, please refer to me, and we can then decide how to code the information. Many thanks.
