Penang Sat. --- A well known Penang resident, Mrs Khor Ewe Keng (Madam Chee Swee Hu), widow of the first president of the Penang Rubber Trade Association (formerly the Penang Rubber Exchange), died at her MacAlister Road residence here yesterday evening. She was 81. She leave two sons, Mr Khor Cheang Kee, Penang manager of the Straits Times, Mr. Khor Cheang Chuan, and six daughters. The funeral will take place on Thursday. Thursday. Full Chinese ceremonial rites were performed today at the funeral of Mrs Khor Ewe Keng, 81-year-old widow of the first president of the Penang Rubber Trade Association. The burial took place at Batu Gantong cemetery where she was laid to rest beside the tomb of her husband. One of Mrs Khor's daughters, Mrs. Chua Boon Teck of Kuala Lumpur, arrived in Penang last night after an 8,000-mile trip from London to attend the funeral. [The Straits Times, 12 June 1959, Page 9]
