Tan Tiang Swee, death 21 October 1929, Penang

The death of Mr. Tan Tiang Swee, aged seventy-nine years, took place at his residence, No 16, Green Hall, Penang, on October 21st. He leaves a widow, a son and fourteen grandchildren to mourn his loss. Mr. Tiang Swee, better known as the "Bengala" (Bengal) Merchant, was once the Managing Partner of the well-known firms ofHo Thye and Company of Calcutta and Rangoon, which is still carrying on business under the same name, and Sin Swee Bee and Company of Penang.
