CHINESE WEDDING

The wedding will take place on Sunday Sept 17, at Penang Cot, River Valley Road, of Mr. Tan Hun Wan, eldest son of Mr. Tan Chong Chew, to Miss Lim Chin Choo.

The ceremony will be performed in the old style, the bride's costume being specially imported.

The band of the 2nd Battalion, the Loyal Regiment, will be in attendance and there will also be a ronggeng party present.

CHINESE BRIDE WEARS $100,000 WORTH OF JEWELS

More than $100,000 worth of jewellery was worn by Miss Lim Chin Choo, daughter of Mrs. Lim Mah Seang of Penang, at her marriage to Mr. Tan Huck Wan, of Singapore yesterday.

The bridegroom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tan Chong Chew, of Singapore, is an assistant to his father, who is a labour contractor to the Singapore Harbour board.

Married in the old Chinese style, the bride wore a costume specially imported from Penang for the occasion.

More than 200 guests attended a tea party held at "Penang Cot," 317 River Valley Road afterwards, during which the band of the 2nd Battalion, The Loyal Regiment, rendered selections while more than 400 guests, including 120 members of the Tanjong Pagar Labour Co., attended the dinner which followed.

Mr. Joe Fisher "shot" scenes of the bridal chamber, with his cine camera, and also the wedding procession to "Penang Cot."

At the wedding reception the health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr. H. K. Rodgers, Chairman of the Singapore Harbour Board.
