Chung Kok Ming (Chung Ah Ming), death 23 May 1940, Ipoh

Ipoh, May 22. The remains of the late Mr. Chung Ah Ming, who died in his residence at Gopeng Road yesterday, will be conveyed to Penang for interment at the family burial ground. TZhe funeral will be held here on Friday morning at 10 o'clock, after which the cortege will leave for Penang. As a mark of respect, the inter-state lawn tennis match between Perak and Selangor, which was to have been played this week has been postponed. There was a large gathering at the funeral of Mr. Chung Ah Ming, former Federal Councillor and an outstanding Perak sportsman, of Ipoh, whose remains were interred at the family burial ground in Mount Erskine today. Hundreds of wreaths and many scrolls were received. Among those at the graveside were Raja Kamaralzaman, representing the Sultan of Perak, and Mr Chung Min Sen, representing the Perak Lawn Tennis Association.
