Lam Swee Cheng and Phung Chok Nam, marriage, January 1912, Penang

The marriage was to take place on Monday of Mr. Phung Chok Nam, brother in-law of Mr. Goh Taik Chee, J.P., and Miss Lam Swee Cheng, younger sister of Mr. Lam Hor Choong, at Penang. [The Singapore Free Press and Mercantile Advertiser (1884-1942), 27 January 1912, Page 7]

A wedding of unusual interest to the Chinese community of Penang took place at Mr. Lam Hor Choong's palatial residence in Love Lane when Dr. K. T. Khong, B.A., M.B., B.C., (Camb,.) was joined in marriage to Miss Lam Swee Chun, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Lam Ah Kai. The bride, who is a sister of Mr. Lam Hor Choong, is an accomplished young lady who received her education at the Anglo Chinese Girls' School and latterly at the St. George's Girls' School. Of Dr. Khong's achievements most of our readers are aware. He left for Cambridge some seven years ago and after graduating B.A. of that University finished his medical course at Guys's Hospital. Chung Ching-Kim and Lam Hor-Tong, marriage 11 May 1918

The engagement is announced of Mr. Lam Hor Tong, (cashier of the Eastern Trading Company) brother of Mr. Lam Hor Cheong, son of the late Lam Ah Kai, to Miss Chung Ching Kim, second daughter of Mr. Chung Thye Chong and grand-daughter of the late Capt. Chung Keng Quee of Penang and Perak. The wedding is to take place in Penang on May 11, says the Straits Echo. [The Straits Times, 5 April 1918, Page 8]
