Archibald Edward Harbour Anson (Maj.-Gen., Sir), death February 1925, London

FORMER PENANG GOVERNOR DEAD. (Reuter's Service.) London, Feb. 26. The death is announced of Major-General Sir Archibald Edward Harbour Anson. (Deceased was a retired officer of the Royal Artillery. He was a Crimean veteran, being employed in the right and left seige trains in Crimea in the bombardments of June 6th and 18th, 1855. In 1867 he served as Lieut-Governor of Penang, and was Administrator of the Government of the Straits Settlements at intervals from 1871 to 1879, having charge of the Expedition in Sungei Ujong and Negri Sembilan from 1875 to 1876.) Lady Rasada (Mrs. Khaw Sim Bee), death December 1925, Penang

Penang, Dec 21. The death has occurred of Lady Rasada widow of Phya Rasada Nupradit (better known as Khaw Sim Bee, High Commissioner for Puket), on Saturday at her residence in Northam Road. Although the grave is ready at the family burial ground at Renong, presented by the late King, deceased at the last decided to be buried at Penang. The date of the funeral has not yet been fixed. Lim Imm Neo (Mrs. Tan Beng Wan), death 10 October 1925, Singapore

LIM IMM NEO.--At 3.45 a.m. on October 10, 1925, at Botan House, 46, Neil Road, Mrs. Tan Beng Wan, nee Lim Imm Neo, aged 73, leaving behind two sons, Tan Cheng Siang, Tan Cheng Yan, five daughters-in-law, one daughter, one son-in-law, Lim Siew Hock, twelve grandsons, Lim Teck Koon, Lim Teck Yong, Tan Choon Bock, Tan Bock Lim and others, none granddaughters, two grandsons-in-law, Quah Seng Hock, Yeo Chong Cheng and nine great grandchildren. Wee Kay Siang, death 31 July 1925, Singapore

Yeoh Paik Tatt, death 10 December 1925, Penang

A telegram from our Penang correspondent announces the death of Mr. Yeoh Paik Tatt, J.P., merchant of Penang, at the age of fifty-three. The late Mr. Yeoh Paik Tatt was one of the pioneers of the establishment of Chinese import and export merchants and was a founder of the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, President of the Chiense Town Hall, member of the Committee of the Penang Free School, and a prime mover in public matters. Lim Paik Joo (Mrs. Gunn Lay Teik), death September 1925, Penang

PENANG NEWS. 
(From Our Own Correspondent.) 
Penang, September 18. 

The death has occurred of Mrs. Gunn Lay Teck, daughter of Mr. Lim Cheng Teik. after a short illness. Deceased was married a few years ago. The funeral will take place on Sunday.

The death took place last week at Limburg, Penang, of the wife of Mr. Gunn Lay Teik, B.Sc. (Lond.), of the F.M.S. Agricultural Department. The deceased was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Cheng Teik, well-known residents of Penang, and was married in May last. She was living with her husband in Kuala Lumpur till recently. After the Malayan Agri-Horticultural Show she became ill, and was removed to Penang. Medical aid was secured from Singapore and Deli, without avail. The funeral took place at Penang on Sunday and was largely attended.

Chuah Kee Eee, death

Telegrams announcing the death of Mr Cheah Kee Ee were received by his friends in Singapore, and widespread is the regret felt. The deceased was a prominent member of the Chinese community ; he was a wine merchant and a owner of a distillery. Cheah Kee Eee, a prominent Perak and Penang planter and miner, in a letter to the press, protests against the report of his death and funeral, published in northern papers recently. This referred to Chuah Kee Ee another Penang towkay. [The Straits Times, 4 November 1925, Page 9]

Mrs. Kum Peng Huat, death

The cortege of Mrs. Kum Peng Huat left for Bukit Brown cemetery on Thursday morning, and many friends and relatives were present to pay their last respects. The deceased's husband, Mr Kum Peng Huat, is a well-known merchant, possessing a saw-mill and has a large interest in tbe business.

Seow Tiang Quee, death 20 February 1925, Singapore

SEOW TIANG QUEE, Compradore, Netherlands Trading Society, aged 75, died 8.30 last night at his residence, No. 42, Neil Road. Leaves behind to mourn his loss widow, two sons, three daughtters, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral on Tuesday, 24th instant, at 10 a.m., to Bukit Brown.

Seow Menn Lin

On January 31, 1925, at No. 125-5 Java Road, Singapore, Mr. Seow Menn Lin, aged 63. He leaves a widow, Madame Chen Mun Nyong, two sons, Messrs Seow Kway Fah and Kway Fee, two daughters and daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren and two sisters Madame Seow Soon Neo and Seow Piang Neo. Funeral Wednesday February 4 at 9 a.m. sharp to Holland Road Cemetery. Java papers please copy.

Kwok Ah Thye, death

On January 31, 1925, at 90, Duxton Road, Mr. Kwok Ah Thye, aged 55, beloved father of Messrs Kwok Ah Soo, Ah Tee, Ah Ha and Ah Lou. Deceased leaves a widow, four sons, one daughter, three daughters-in-law and four grandchildren to mourn his loss. Deeply regretted. Funeral on February 7, to Pek San Teng burial ground Thomson Road.

Tan Seow Kwang, death

Mrs. Tan Seow Kwang and family beg to thank all their relatives, friends and members of the White Star Club, Chwee Whay Lim Club, Amateur Sporting Assn., Straits Junior Assn., Wah Ghee Kok Assn., and Tong Soon Kok Assn., who kindly attended the funeral of the late Mr. Tan Seow Kwang last Sunday, 4th instant, and also those who sent wreaths and letters of condolence.
