Tan Bin Cheng, death 22 May 1922, Singapore
We regret to announce the death of Mr Tan Bin Cheng, which took place on Monday last at his residence, 29 Killiney Road. The deceased leaves a widow, three sons, Messrs Tan Hong Tee, Hong Poh and Hong Tian, and several grandchildren to mourn his loss. At the time of his death, the deceased was 65 years of age. He was the son of the late Tan Swee Lim, whose brother was the late Mr. Tan Kim Cheng, Siamese Consul-General in Singapore at one time, and grand-son of the late Mr. Tan Tock Seng, the founder of the then Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The funeral will take place on Sunday, 28th inst., the cortege leaving 29 Killiney Road at 11 a.m. for the new cemetery at Bukit Brown. [The Straits Times, 24 May 1922, Page 8]
