Mrs. Leong Fee, death November 1919, Penang

There was a very large attendance at the funeral of the late Mrs. Leong Fee at Penang on Sunday morning, and they could not help being impressed with the simplicity of the arrangements made to convey the widow of one of the richest Chinese of Penang and Sumatra to her last resting place. In accordance with the wish of the deceased lady the funeral obsequies were carried out in the reform style. There were no sacrificial tables, no banners or scrolls of any kind, says the Straits Echo. [Malaya Tribune, 20 November 1919, Page 5]
