Cheah Teow Eang, death 5 January 1923, Singapore
The death is announced of Mr. Cheah Teow Eang, which occurred at his residence at 142 Telok Ayer Street on New Year's Day at the age of 66 years. The deceased, who was born in Penang, was a well-known opium and spirit farmer in Chop Chin Hoe Bee, Sin Chin Hoe Bee and Guan Hock Hin, when the Government took over the concern. He leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral takes place this morning at 10 o'clock at Bukit Brown Cemetery.
