Death. -- On the 6th October, after a residence off 42 years on this Island, John Rodyk Esquire aged 75 years, 6 months and 6th [sic] days. The deceased was a native of Amsterdam and had been nearly 57 years in India. [The Straits Times, 28 October 1845, Page 4]
