PENANG OBITUARY. (From Our Own Correspondent) Penang, Dec. 4 Mrs. Chung Ah Yong, mother of Chung Ah Ming, passed away this morning after several years of poor health, aged sixty years. Besides this son, she left four others, two daughters and several grandchildren. [The Straits Times, 5 December 1929, Page 12]
The death took place on Wednesday at her residence, 2 Church Street, Penang, of Mrs. Chung Ah Yong (nee Foong Kon Keow), at the age of 60. The deceased lady, who had been in indifferent health for some time, had a relapse on Sunday. She leaves six sons, two daughters and several grandchildren. Of an unostentatious and quiet disposition, she was always willing to loosen her purse strings for charity, and was greatly esteemed by all who came in contact with her.
