Tan Kwee-Leoh, death
The death of Nonia Tan Kwee Leoh took place at her residence at Malay Street, Penang, at 9.30 o'clock on Sunday night. The deceased lady, who was 79 years of age, was the sister-in-law of late Khoo Thean Tek. She survived her husband, the late Khoo Thean Choe, when she was 19 years old and had therefore attained a record period of widowhood. Deceased was the best known Chinese lady in Penang and many will greatly mourn her death. During her lifetime she made frequent visits to Singapore where she has made a host of friends. She was a good woman in the truest sense of the phrase and her memory will long be cherished. She is survived by one son, one daughter, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Khoo Suan-See and Lim Seng-Kim, marriage
Mr. Lim Seng Kim, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Chooi Chuan, and a Penang State cricketer, was married to Miss Khoo Suan See, only daughter of Mr. Khoo Thean Teik, at the Lim Kongsi, Beach Street, Penang, on Saturday. Khoo Hun-Tee @ Edward Gordion, death
