Wu Chong Teng and Kang Ah Gnoh, marriage January 1935, Penang

Mr. Wu Chong Teng and Miss Kang Ah Gnoh. At the Mission Chapel, Farquhar Street, Penang, the wedding took place on Saturday of two young members of the congregation. Mr Wu Chong Teng, a nephew of Dr. Wu Lien Teh, and Miss Kang Ah Gnoh (Nancy). Mr. Wu is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wu Lien Whatt and a younger brother of Mr. Ng Chong Weng of the staff of the Penang Free School, while the bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kang Ah Teng. Mr. A. Hardwicke officiated at the ceremony. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Tan Wah Kim as bestman while Miss Dorothy Ang was the bridesmaid. Mr. Soon Cheng Sun and Miss Heah Kooi See. The wedding took place at "Northam Lodge," Northam Road, Penang, on Monday, in the reformed style of Mr. Soon Cheng Sun and Miss Heah Kooi See. The bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. Soon Eng Kong, and the bride's father is Mr. Heah Seng Whatt, J.P. There was a large gathering of prominent Chinese at the ceremony, and a reception followed at the same place later. In the evening a dinner was given. The spacious compounds of both residence were brilliantly illuminated with festoons of coloured electric lamps on Sunday and Monday nights. Penang, Feb 18. A large gathering of prominent Chinese were present at the Chinese Town Hall yesterday at the wedding of Mr. Chew Beow Chin and Miss Lim Phaik Tin, daughter of Mr. Lim Seng Hooi, J.P. Mr Khoo Sian Ewe was officiating chairman at the ceremony, and Mr. Lee Poh Kwan acted as the master of ceremonies. In the course of the wedding, Dr. Lim Boon Keng delivered a homily to the bridal couple.
