Helene Lee and Charles Ung, and, Cheah Saik Eng and Lim Swee Gaik, marriage 27 November 1960

There were two of everything at this wedding reception in Penang on Sunday--two brides, two bridegrooms, two wedding cakes, and of course a double toast. The reception followed the double wedding of Miss Helene Lee, only daughter of Dr. Lee Tiang Keng, Malaya's Ambassador to Japan, and Mrs Lee, to Asst. Supt. Charles Ung, of the Federation Police Force and Dr. Cheah Saik Eng, younger son of the Lees, and Miss Lim Swee Gaik. Miss Lim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Huck Aik. DAUGHTER OF MALAYAN AMBASSADOR CREMATED. PENANG. Sun.--Mrs. Helene Ung, only daughter of the late Dr. Lee Tiang Keng, Malaya's first Ambassador to Japan, was cremated at the Batu Gantang cemetery this afternoon. Mrs. Ung, 33, died in the Maternity Hospital yesterday, five days after giving birth to her first child. The baby, a boy, is doing well. A large number of friends and relatives, including the acting Chief Minister, Inche Aziz Ibrahim, attended the funeral. Mrs. Ung was the wife of acting Deputy Supt.
