Khoo Chooi-Lian and Yeoh Seng-Khoe, marriage
Upwards of a hundred guests were present at a banquet in Penang on Thursday in honour of the marriage of Miss Khoo Chooi Lian, second daughter of Towkay Khoo Cheow Teong, Captain China of Asahan, the well-known landed proprietor and benefactor of the St. Xavier's Institution, the Anglo-Chinese School, and the Penang Free School, and Mr Yeoh Seng Khoe, Penang. Khoo Hock-Seng, death
It is regret, says the Straits Echo, that we announce the death of Mr. Khoo Hock Seng, late Captain China of Asahan, which took place at his residence, No. 63 McAlister Lane, Penang, on Monday, September 23, 1929, after an illness of about two months. The deceased gentleman, who was 62 years old, leaves a widow, a son, twwo daughters and ten grandchildren. [The Singapore Free Press and Mercantile Advertiser (1884-1942), 28 September 1929, Page 10]
