P. K. Nambyar, death April 1928, Penang
DEATH OF MR. NAMBYAR. Indian Member of Legislative Council. We regret to record the death of Mr. P. K. Nambyar, of Penang, representative of the Indian community on the Legislative Council, who passed away in his sleep on Monday evening after a brief illness. Mr. Nambyar, who was a barrister-at-law, was born at Malabar in 1869, and educated at Zamurin's College, Calicut, Presidency College, Madras, and St. John's College, Cambridge. He was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1894. He practiced in the Straits and the F.M.S., and was appointed a member of the Legislative Council in 1923. A highly respected member of the Indian community and an ardent worker in the cause of his fellow countrymen in Malaya, his death is regretted by a wide circle of friends in all communities.
