Daughter of Cheah Tek Swee and Mahomed Noordin Merican, Marriage, 6 October 1892, Penang

A Marriage will take place to-night between Mr. Mahomed Noordin Merican, the only son of Nina Merican Noordin, and the daughter of Mr. Cheah Tek Swee, who was formerly a bill-collector of the firm Messrs. Mathieu & Co. The bridegroom is entitled to a large legacy under his father's will, and has signed a deed by which he settles on the young lady a sum of $10,000, and gives a present to her mother of $5,000, to be paid some time next year on his attaining the age of 21 years. The marriage ceremony will be performed in the house opf the mother of the young man in King Street, under the Mahomedan rites.

Miss Khaw Phaik Saik and Mr Lim Swee Hoe, Marriage, circa 17 December 1924, Penang

 The wedding took place in Penang in the old Chinese style between Miss Khaw Phaik Saik, the third daughter of Mr. Khaw Joo Tok, J.P., -- who was lately honoured by the King of Siam with the Siamese title "Phra Silohabhumi Pitaks" -- and M. Lim Swee Hoe, youngest son of the late Mr. Lim Swee Ee. As the marriage was a "Chin Choey" as opposed to "Chuah" most of the ceremonies took place at the residence of the bride's parents, "Asdang House."

Miss Ong Beng Teik and Mr. Low Leong Huat, Marriage, 30 Dec 1900, Penang

 Mr. Low Leong Huat, the eldest son of Mr. Low Boon Kim, was married in Penang on the 30th of December to Miss Ong Beng Teik. Edith McIntyre and William Hamillton, Marriage, June 1895, Penang

 MARRIAGE AT ST. GEROGE'S CHURCH. 

The Wedding of Mr. W. Hamilton of the Penang Free School with Miss Edith McIntyre, third daughter of Mrs. C. A. McIntyre, was celebrated at the St. George's Church on Saturday last, the Rev. L. C. Biggs officiating. The bride looked well in the traditional white, the material being Sarah silk, with a sort of cloak train looped from the shoulders and trimmed with deep lace and corded silk. The bridesmaids, the Misses Hannah and Hilda McIntyre, sisters of the bride, wore dresses of terra-cotta cashmere, trimmed with cream lace, and rose silk yoke to the bodice and sleeves. Mr. Hartley was best man, while Mr. J. W. Eckersall presided at the organ. The marriage of Mr. Hamilton closes up the bachelor's list among the Free School staff all of whom are now provided for.

K. Patchee Haj Mohamed Noor, Death, October 1917, Penang

 We regret to announce the sudden and unexpected death of Mr. K. Patchee Haj Mohamed Noor, which took place at his residence in Burmah Road, Penang, at about two o'clock on Monday morning. Deceased, who was about 53 years of age, was a large house and landed property owner and one of the leading stevedores in Penang. He was President of the M.F.A., Penang Peranakan Club, Muslim Mahajana Sabha and a member of the Mohamedan Advisory Board. He was a generous man and had contributed largely to all the War Funds. Though he had been in indifferent health of late, his end was certainly not expected, for he only attended the celebrations of his second son's wedding the night previous.--S.E.
