The engagement is announced, says the Straits Echo, of Mr. Tye Khek Kwang, son of Mr. Tye Kee Yoon, of Penang, and Miss Lew, eldest daughter of his Excellency Lew Yuk-lin, late Chinese Ambassador to the Court of St. James, London. The wedding will take place in Macao, China, where the bride and her parents are now living. Miss Lew is an accomplished young lady and was educated in England. She passed through Penang with her father a few months ago on their way home.

Marriage To Miss Chung Tiam Fook.

London. Sept. 23.

Mr. Tiang Wee Ong, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ong Boon Tat, of Singapore, was married at London Registry Office last Saturday to Miss Gertrude Chung Tiam Fook, only daughter of Mr. William Chung Tiam Fook, a wealthy diamond merchant of British Guiana, and Mrs. Chung Tiam Fook. 

The reception was held yesterday, at a Kengsington hotel, where a large number of the bride and bridegroom's English and Malayan friends assembled. Mr. Ong Boon Tat received the guests as they arrived, and apologised for the absence of his wife who, he said, felt that the long journey from Singapore to London would have been too much for her. 

The bride, who looked charmingly pretty, and wore a beautiful frock of black and white silk, cut the cake amidst much applause and then Mr. Leighton Piper, an old friend of her family, proposed the health of Mr. and Mrs. Tiang Wee Ong. He had had the pleasure, he said, of knowing the bride for rather more than five years, and during that time he had learnt to admire her qualities of heart and head. He had not been acquainted with the bridegroom for so long, but he knew him well enough to be able to assure them that he was the worthy son of a worthy father. (Applause). 

After the bridegroom had made a short speech in reply, Mr. Ong Boon Tat thanked the guests for their attendance and good wishes, on behalf of Mr.s Ong Boon Tat and himself. The band then played and the guests enjoyed a delightful the dansant. 

Among the Malayans present I noticed Mr. and Mrs. H. Hibbert, Mr. F. G. Blair and Mr. George Hibbert.

Miss Cheah Choo Bee and Mr. Chew Boon Ee, Marriage February 1922, Penang

There was a large attendance on Monday at 62, Seang Tek Road, Penang, when the wedding took place of Mr. Chew Boon Ee, managing partner of the Boon Pharmacy, second son of Mr. Chew Cheng Keat, and the popular Football Captain of the local Chinese Recreation Club and Miss Cheah Choo Bee, only daughter of Mr. Cheah Eng Keat of Kladi Villa, 133, Kelawei Road, Penang. After the dinner the guests repaired to the bride's residence, where the customary cup of tea was partaken of by them. The wedding pppresents were numerous and valuable.

The marriage took place last Saturday at Penang of Mr. Chew Hoon Huck, fifth son of the late Mr. Chew Cheng Keat and of Mrs. Chew Cheng Keat, and Miss Leong Hean Inn, only daughter of the late Mr. Leong Fook Chee and of Mrs. Leong Fook Chee. The ceremony, which was in the old style, was solemnised at the bride's residence, in Love Lane, the bridegroom's residence, 62 Seang Tek Road, and the Pitt Street Chinese Temple. Mr. Chew Boon Ee, of the Boon Pharmacy, entertained a number of friends to dinner at his residence, 62, Seang Tek Road, in the evening.
